OVERVIEW:

Lumin Consulting was commissioned to conduct an assessment of the social
and economic cost of substance abuse in four CARIFORUM states and to use
the results of this assessment to inform policy development and
programmatic interventions that are aimed to address illicit drug use.

 

KEY RESULTS:

  • Provided recommendations for illicit drugs legislation for Antigua and
    Barbuda, Dominica and Guyana,

  • Provided a comprehensive study on the addition to illicit drug and
    reducing its demand.

  • Conducted training workshops with national entities and regional
    partners on methodology of producing cost estimates and guidelines
    for presenting data reporting cost.

  • Informed policy recommendations, at the national and regional levels,
    to contribute to the designated countries’ capacities to manage drug
    demand.
